David Stirling Life story
Sir Archibald David Stirling DSO OBE was a Scottish Officer in the British Army, a mountaineer, and the founder and creator of the Special Air Service. He saw active service during the Second World War until he was captured and spent the rest of the war in captivity as a prisoner of war.
