Deacon Edward Putnam was a man much respected and loved by his neighbors. He was made freeman in 1690, and on 3 Dec. 1690, was chosen deacon of the First Church in Danvers. His name stands second in the list of deacons, Nathaniel Ingersoll having been appointed on the 1 Dec. 1690.
