Dolores Hidalgo is a city in central Mexico. The Independence Museum traces the city's history as the birthplace of Mexican independence in the 1800s. Local priest Miguel Hidalgo uttered the “Cry of Dolores” at the 18th-century Dolores Parish Church, rallying people to rise up. Nearby, Hidalgo House Museum has exhibits on his life.
