About Dr. Kildare's Wedding Day
Young physician Jimmy Kildare (Lew Ayres) and nurse Mary Lamont (Laraine Day) are preparing for their forthcoming wedding. Not wishing to upset him, Kildare's mentor, Dr. Leonard Gillespie (Lionel Barrymore), hides his cancer diagnosis and concentrates on treating famous conductor Costanzo Labardi (Nils Asther), who fears he's going deaf. When Gillespie refuses to go to a clinic so he can continue treating Labardi, Kildare vows to help -- until an unexpected tragedy with Mary nearly ruins him.
