Captain Edward George Godolphin Hastings CBE RN was born in 1887 at Greenwich, Kent, England. He was a son of Admiral Alexander Plantagenet Hastings and Edith Caroline Blake. He married Hon. Grizell Cochrane-Baillie, on 22nd April 1922.
