Effat Marashi Life story
Effat Marashi is the widow of Iranian politician and former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
Early Life
Effat marashi was born in 1952 in the iranian city of isfahan. She graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from the universtiy of tehrna in 1975. She also earned her master s degree in mathematics from the same university in 1977.
Political Career
Effat marashi was papointed as the deputy minister of education in 1991. She was later promoted to minister of education in held the pots until 1997. During her term. She worked to improve the quality of education in iran by introducing reforms such as introducing new methods of teaching and providing more educational resources.
Leadership Roles
Effat marashi has held various leadersihp roles in the political and educational fields. Seh was the president of the women s council of iran from 1997 to 2001. She was also the vice-president of the islamic republic of iran broadcatsing from 2001 to 2004.

Effat marashi has participated in many international forums and events. She was a speaker at the united nations world conference on women in beijing in 1995. She was also a speaker at the international women s forum in tehran in 2002.

Effat marashi has been an advocate for women s rights in iran. She has been a ovcal critic of laws which discriminate against women. Such as the law which limits women s access to certain jobs. She has also been a vocal supporter of the iranian women s movement.

Effat marashi has been an active participant in peace activism in the middle east. She was a part of the iranian delegation which participated in the peace negotiations bewteen iran and iraq in 1997. She was also a part of the iranian delegation which attended the middle east peace talks in acmp david in 2000.

Effat marashi has been involved in the legisaltive process in iran. She was a member of the iranian parliament from to 2008. Where she was a vocal advocate for women s rights. She was also a member of the iranian senate from 2008 to 2012.

Effat marashi has been awarded various honors and awards for her work. She was awarded the order of merit by the president of iran in was also awarded the uinted nations development fund for women s woemn s empowerment award in 2006.
