Elijah Livermore Life story
In 1779, Elijah Livermore settled on the Androscoggin River in the plantation of Port Royal in what was then Cumberland County, Massachusetts. He was the first European to settle permanently on the plantation, and when it was incorporated as a town in 1795, it was named after him.
