About Emmanouil Benakis
Emmanouil Benakis was a Greek merchant and politician, considered a national benefactor of Greece. After studying in England, Benakis emigrated to Alexandria, Egypt, where he worked for the Greek cotton industrialist Horemi, and into whose family he married.
