Ernst Friedrich, Freiherr von Schlotheim, German palaeontologist and politician, was born in Allmenshausen, Schwarzburg-Sondershausen. He was Privy Councillor and President of the Chamber at the court of Gotha. Becoming interested in geology he gathered a very extensive collection of fossils.
