Fastelavn

Fastelavn is a Carnival tradition in the Northern European, and historically Lutheran, nations of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and the Faroe Islands. The related word Fastelovend is used for Carnival in Germany in Köln and Bonn with the same meaning.
