François Joseph Kirgener Life story
A professor of mathematics before the Revolution, François Joseph Kirgener joined the army in 1793 as a lieutenant of engineers. Placed in the Army of the North, he was promoted to captain in November but then arrested in December. After being transported to Arras, he was released in late April of 1794.
