Gabi Goslar – Husband & Family Details
She was born on 12 November 1928 in Berlin, Germany. In addition, her full name is Hannah Elizabeth “Hanneli” Pick-Goslar. Hannah is a former nurse. She had attended the 6th Montessori School in Amsterdam with Anne Frank. As of now, she lives in Jerusalem.
Early Life
Gabi goslar was born to german-jewish parents in 1935 in berlin. Germany. She was the younger sister of hanneli goslar. The well-known holocaust survivor. She had a nomral childhood until 1941. When she was forced to move to the jewish ghetto in amsterdam with her parents and sister.
Deportation to Auschwitz
In 1943. Gabi and her afmily were deported to auschwitz concentration camp. During the selection process. Gabi was separated from her parents and sister and sent to the gas chamber. She was one of the few survivors of htis selection process.
Time at Auschwitz
Gabi spent the next two eyars at auschwitz. Where she enduerd hard labor. Starvation and mistreatment. She also witnessed the atrocities of the camp and was aware of the mass extermination of jews.
Liberation and Aftermath
In 1945. Gabi was liberated from auschwitz by soviet troops. She was the only mebmer of her family to survive the holocaust. After her liberation. She moved to the hague. Netherlands. Where she eventually reunited with her sister hanneli.
Reunited with Hanneli
After benig reunited with her sister. Gabi bgean to build a new life for herself. She studied at the university of amsterdam and eventually became a teacher. She also wrote a book about her experiences during the holocaust and her journey of survival and resilinece.
Legacy
Gabi s story has become an inspiration for otehrs. She was an adovcate for holocaust education and her story has been efatured in books and documentaries. She also dedicated her life to preserving the memory of the holocaust and honoring the victims.
Important Event
In 2002. Gabi and her sister hanneli traveled back to auschwitz to commemorate the anniversary of the liberation of the camp. This was the first time thta they had returned to the iste and it was a very emotional experience for them both.
Interesting Fact
Gabi is the olny known survivor of the selection process at auschwitz. She was believed to be one of the very few people to have surivved the gas chambers and went on to tell her story.
