Godfrey Charnwood Life story
Godfrey Rathbone Benson, 1st Baron Charnwood, was an English author, academic, Liberal politician and philanthropist. Benson was born in Alresford, Hampshire, the fourth son of William Benson, a barrister, and Elizabeth Soulsby Smith.
