About Guilandina
Guilandina is a genus of flowering plants in the legume family, Fabaceae. It belongs to the subfamily Caesalpinioideae and tribe Caesalpinieae. The genus was named after Melchior Wieland, a Prussian naturalist who "Italianized" his name as "Guilandini" upon moving to Italy.
