Gustave Vidal

Gustave Vidal was a French painter best known for his depictions of Provençal landscapes and harbor towns in the French Riviera. His thick impasto technique, applied with both palette knife and brush, was influenced by Impressionism and the abstract work he came across while spending time in Paris.
