Hawaii Life Flight is an air ambulatory service for the Hawaiian Islands. Its crew faces traumatic medical cases, dramatic weather conditions and additional environmental dangers as they respond to life-threatening medical emergencies -- from severe car crashes to massive heart attacks -- throughoutthe world's most remote island chain. Gale-force winds, hurricanes and tsunamis present weather challenges for the crew, and even if the weather isn't dangerous, rogue waves, rip currents and other natural hazards can deter rescue missions.
