Real name Herbert Cornelius Kenny Died July 11, 1992 Country United States Comments. Singer and bass player born in Philadelphia and raised in Baltimore. He was the brother of Bill Kenny, lead singer of the Ink Spots. In 1944, when Hoppy Jones, the bass singer for the Ink Spots died, Herb Kenny took his place.
