Hyacinth Symonds Hooker Life story
Hyacinth Hooker (nee Symonds) was the second wife of the botanist Joseph Dalton Hooker (1817-1911). Born in 1842 the couple had two sons. Joseph Dalton Hooker was assistant surgeon and botanist to the British Naval Expedition, 1839-1843, (leader James Clark Ross).
