Ilʹi︠a︡ Varshavskiĭ Life story
Ilya Varshavsky was a sailor in the Russian navy for most of his life. His navy training included work in engineering and design. At the age of 53, his science background inspired him to begin writing science fiction. Many of his works are focused around the government's misuse of scince in order to maintain power.
