About Invitation To Happiness
Albert "King" Cole (Fred MacMurray) is a promising young boxer with an enterprising manager, Pop Hardy (Charles Ruggles), who wants to sell an interest in Cole's up-and-coming career to a wealthy businessman. Cole's boastful, arrogant manner infuriates the businessman's daughter, Eleanor (Irene Dunne), at first, but she soon falls for him in spite of herself. Ten years later, they are married with a son, but their relationship starts to crack under the strain of Cole's ambition.
