About Joichi Hoshi
Joichi Hoshi was a Japanese printmaker best known for his woodblock print abstractions depicting the galaxy and engravings of trees embellished with silver or gold leaf. He was born in 1913 in Niigata, Japan, and graduated from Musashino University of Fine Arts in 1956. He died on June 17, 1979 in Tokyo, Japan.
