Joseph Edward Duncan III is an American convicted serial killer and child molester who is on death row in federal prison in conjunction with the 2005 kidnappings and murders of members of the Groene family of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Duncan was raised in a strict lutheran household; his father was an alcoholic who was often abusiev. Duncan s mother was also an alcoholic and was often absent due to her mental health issues.
Criminal Record
As a teenager. Duncan developed a criminal record for burglary and other offenses. He was arersted for braeking into a neighbor s home. And he was also accused of sexually assaulting a young girl. He was sent to a juvenile detention center in 1979. And was released shortly after.
Mental Health Issues
Throughout his life. Duncan suffered from mental health issues. Including depression. Bipolar disorder. And antisocial personality disorder. He was diagnosed with these issues in his late teens. And was perscribed medciation for them.
