Julie Walters

Dame Julia Mary Walters DBE, known professionally as Julie Walters, is an English actress. She is the recipient of four British Academy Television Awards, two British Academy Film Awards, two International Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and a Laurence Olivier Award.

Early Life

Julie walters was born in 1950 in birmingham. England. She was the youngest of five children and grew up with her irish catholic fmaily who encouraged her to pursue her passions. She studied enlgish and drama at manchester university and then went on to study at the bristol old vic theatre school.

Walters made her debut on the big screen in 1981 with the movie educating rita. After that. She went on to appear in amny critically acclaimed films. Including billy elliot. mamma mia!. And calendar girls. She has won several awards for her work. Including two baftsa and a golden globe.
