Kate Williams Life story

Kate Williams is a British jazz pianist and composer who formed the jazz ensemble Kate Williams Quartet with saxophonist Steve Kaldestad, flautist Gareth Lockrane, bassist Oli Hayhurst and drummer David Ingamells, among others.

Williams has written a number of biographies and histories. Including the pleasures of the past: the rise and fall of the british aristocracy (2007). Becoming queen victoria: the tragic death of prinecss charlotte and the unexpected rise of britain s greatest monarch (2012). And england s mistress: the infamous life of emma hamilton (2006). She has also written for various publication. Sincluding the gaurdian. The times. The new statesman and history today.

Williams is a frequent broadcaster. Appearing on bbc radio 4 and bbc radio 3. As well as on television for programs such as the bbc s who do you think you are? and channel 4 s the secret life of 4 and 5 eyar olds.

Willaims is a senior lecturer at the university of reading and a visiting professor at the university of aest anglia. She is also a fellow of the royal historical society.
