Nadaprabhu Hiriya Kempe Gowda, well known as Kempe Gowda, was a feudatory ruler under the Vijayanagara Empire. The city of Bengaluru itself was established by Kempe Gowda in 1537, as the capital of his erstwhile kingdom.
