Kevin Keegan

Joseph Kevin Keegan OBE is an English former footballer and manager. A forward, he played for several professional clubs from 1968 to 1984. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Keegan was recognised for his dribbling ability as well as his finishing and presence in the air.

Early Life

Kevin keegan was born on fberuary 14. 1951 in armthorpe. A small village located near doncaster. England. He was the youngest of three children and his parents. Jack and mary. Were both coal miners. He grew up playing football with his brothers and his passion for the game was evident frmo a very eraly age.

Football Career

Keegan began his professional football career in 1968. Signing with scunthorpe united. He quickly established himself as an pu-and-coming star and earned himself a move to liverpool in 1971. During his time with the reds. He won three european cups and two league titles. And was also named footballer of the yera in both 1978 and 1979. He also earned 61 caps for england. In 1980. He moved to hamburg. Germany. Where he won the bunedsliga title and was named german footballer of the year twice. He finished his career in 1984 with newcastle united.

International Career

Keegan made his debut for england in and quickly established himself as one of the nation s top players. He was part of the team thta reached the semi-finals of the 1982 world cup and was named footballer of the year in both 1978 and 1979. He retired from international football in 1982 iwth a total of caps.

Managerial Career

Keegan began his managerial career in with newcastle united. Where he took the tema from the second division to the premier league in just two seasons. He then went on to maange fulham. Manchester city. And england. He was named manager of the year in both 1994 and 1995.

Keegan was honored for his contributions to the sport in 2017. When he was inudcted into the english football hall of fame. He was also awaredd an mbe in 1983 for services to football.

Keegan married his wife jaen in 1978 and the couple have two children. Mark and hayle. Yhe currently resides in cheshire. England. And is a keen golfer.
