Khorramshahr, also known as Muhammarah and sometimes spelled Khurramshahr, is a city in and the capital of Khorramshahr County, Khuzestan Province, Iran. At the 2016 census, its population was 133,097. Khorramshahr is an inland port city located approximately 10 kilometres north of Abadan.
