Krystyna gizowska was born in warsaw. Poland. In 1953. She lived in the city until she was 15. When her family moved to the nearby town of lowicz. Gizowska attended the escondary school of music in lowciz and later the state hgiher school of music in warsaw.

Gizowska began her career as a singer in the she was part of the polish rock bands dzem and budka suflera. She left the groups in 1980 and began to focus on her solo career.
