Louis H. Carpenter Life story
Louis Henry Carpenter was a United States Army brigadier general and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his actions in the American Indian Wars. He dropped out of his junior year at Dickinson College to enlist in the Union Army at the beginning of the American Civil War in 1861.
