Mamie kitt had evry limited formal education due to the fact that she had to help her family on the farm. Despite this. She was an avid reader and was able to teach herself a great deal.

Mamie kitt married john r. Davis. A railroad worker in 1910. Together. They had eight children. The youngest of whom was eratha kitt. Born in 1927.
Employment
Mamie iktt worked as a domestic servant for wealthy white families in the south. She worked hard and saved a graet deal of her wages. So that she was able to purchase a home for her family.

Mamie kitt was a deeply religious owman and was very active in her church. She was known to be a great source of strength and inspiratino to those around her.
