Marguerite Gautier-van Berchem Life story
Marguerite Augusta Gautier-van Berchem was a Swiss archaeologist and art historian from a patrician family, who specialised both in early Christian art and early Islamic art. She was also an active member of the International Committee of the Red Cross and was one of the first women to hold a senior position there.
