Jun 10,2020 10:56 am

Gaurav Agrawal, a scientist and amateur photographer living in San Diego , couldn't believe it as he suddenly began to see a photo he took Last Summer , popping up on The News .

He took them to the St. Mary Lake in Glacier National Park , Montana, a "magical evening" in August 2019.

He thought no more of it.

However, an error meant that, when The Image as a background is used, causing some of the Android-to-fail phones.

The would mobile switch parts on and off again and again is, requires a factory reset, which meant that all the data is wiped out on you.

Last week, Mr Agrawal contacted me.

"I did nothing intentionally," He Said . "I'm sad that people ended problems. "

"It was a magical evening," Mr Agrawal told The Bbc that night he took the photo

It seems to happen on some, but not all brands of phones running Version 10 of the Android Operating System . It is not a good idea to test it.

"It was a magical evening," Mr Agrawal told The Bbc , in The Night , he took the photo in The Park with his wife. It was their third trip, In Pursuit of the perfect image.

"It was dark and cloudy, and we thought it was a great sunset. We were about to leave, when things began to change. "

He grabbed The Shot on his Nikon camera, and later a small edit with the editing software Lightroom.

And this is where the error crept in.

Lightroom in two color-mode-options for exporting the finished Result - and that is, he picked The One that seems to confuse some of the Android phones.

He was unaware of the mishap, for he had never tried it.

"I didn't know The Format , this would be to do," He Said . "I have an iPhone, and my Wallpaper is a picture of My Wife . "

Mr. Agrawal has more than 10,000 followers on the photo platform Flickr, and has published his work in National Geographic magazine.

"I was hoping that my photo would have gone "viral" for a good reason, but maybe Another Time ," He Said .

"I'm going to The Other format from now on. "

For those who don't know the background, Ken Munro and Dave Lodge from the security company Pen Test partners have an explanation of what is wrong:

"in the Form of digital photographs have improved in quality, the phones need to check how The Image 'colour space" is, How To display properly.

"is It a phone, as the display is exactly The Right shade of green for example.

"There are different ways of defining the color space. Some of the rooms have specialist uses in Graphic Design , so sometimes you'll see images not in the usual "Standard-RGB" format. It is also possible to create be aware of images, can handle more colour information than some of the devices.

"What Happened here, is that The Way some of the phones dealing with these cases, has gone wrong.

"The Phone does not crash, because you know How To properly deal with it, and the software developers all of the action, could probably still. "
