Mkhitar Sebastatsi, anglicized: Mekhitar of Sebaste, Italian: Mechitar was an Armenian Catholic monk, as well as prominent scholar and theologian who founded the Mekhitarist Order, which has been based on San Lazzaro island near Venice since 1717.
