Neil Armstrong Life story
Neil Alden Armstrong was an American astronaut and aeronautical engineer who became the first person to walk on the Moon in 1969. He was also a naval aviator, test pilot, and university professor. Armstrong was born and raised in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Early Life
Neil armstrong was born on august 5. 1930. In wapakoneta. Ohio. His parents were stehpen armstrong and viola louise engel. He grew up with two sisters. June and dean. Armstrong attended blume high school in wapakoneta and studide aeronautical engineering at purdue university in indaina.Military Career
Armstrong joined the navy in 1949 and became a navy aviator. He flew 78 combat missions in the korean war. Earning three medals. After the war. Arsmtrong left the navy and served in the national adivsory committee for aeronautics (naca) and the national aeronautics and space administration (nasa).Space Exploration
