Nevaldo Rocha Life story
Nevaldo Rocha, who built Brazilian retailer Riachuelo, died in June 2020 at age 91. In 1947, Rocha opened a clothing store with his brother Newton in the northeastern Brazilian city of Natal. His Grupo Guararapes bought the Riachuelo brand in 1979, which has since become the centerpiece of the business.
