Noam Shalit Life story
Noam Shalit, the father of former Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who was held hostage by Hamas in Gaza for five years, died Wednesday from cancer at the age of 68. His funeral will be held at the cemetery in Mitzpe Hila, where he lived, at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shalit had been battling leukemia for over six years.
