About Orthochromis
Orthochromis is a genus of relatively small haplochromine cichlids native to rivers and lakes in Eastern and Middle Africa. Most of its species are rheophilic. As presently defined Orthochromis is polyphyletic. Some Orthochromis species were formerly included in Schwetzochromis.
