Patrick Campbell, 1st of Barcaldine, was the natural son of Sir Duncan Campbell, 1st Baronet of Glenorchy. He and his brother James were both legitimated on 27 Dec 1614. From his father, he received Inneerzeldies and other lands in Perthshire as well as Barcaldine Castle in Argyllshire.
