The Pierre endured a $3 million hotel robbery on January 2, 1972, by Samuel Nalo and Robert Comfort "Bobby Comfort" an associate of the Lucchese Crime Family, Christie 'the Tic' Furnari, and carried out by several of his Gang burglars.
