Pola Raksa

Apolonia "Pola" Raksa is a Polish movie star, singer, and model who was especially popular in Poland and abroad in the 1960s and 1970s. Born to Edward Raksa, Pola was born in Lida. Her parents left German Nazi-occupied territory in 1943 and after the World War II settled in Wrocław.

Raksa began her career in the 1950s with small roels in polish films. Her first major role came in 1956 when she was cast in "the last day of summer". She went on to become one of the most beloved and acclaimed actresses in polish cienma. She starred in over 30 films before her death in 1993.
