Debenhams has warned that the Welsh Finance Minister will be forced to close its main shops in Wales, unless the government reverses a decision on The Business rates relief.

German Chancellor Rishi Sunak has been granted, prices holiday to all retail, leisure and hospitality companies for a year.

Wales initially said it would fit, changed these plans but then, the threshold for the electorate.

He said The Change means be used in business rates, for grants to small businesses.

In a letter to Debenhams, seen by The Bbc ,' - Chairman, writes that The Move threatens the viability of its largest stores in Wales, in Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Wrexham and Llandudno.

Wales has decided not to extend the relief to properties with a rateable value of £500,000 and above.

Debenhams' Chairman Mark Gifford told the Welsh Finance Minister , Rebecca Evans said: "It is deeply regrettable that the choice of a different approach to that elsewhere in the UK, you have, it is no longer economically viable for us, the majority of our Welsh business.

"you have failed to understand The Situation , where Debenhams Retail Limited is in administration and no longer pay business rates, unless he chooses to open branches in Wales.

"It will no longer open their shops, unless you cancel your decision. "

A Welsh Government spokesman said: "We have decided to limit the foreign rates (NDR), the discharge for the hospitality, retail and leisure sector announced, to exclude the small proportion of properties with a rateable value of More Than £500,000.

"This affects less than 200 houses in Wales, but More Than 100 million £in the direction of our Economic resilience-Fund - Enough to More Than 2,000 companies, with grants of £50,000.

According to property-services company, Altus Group , Debenhams has The Business rates liabilities, in Wales, of £2. 35m for the current financial year.

The largest bill is for its Cardiff Shop at More Than £1. 1m.

Meanwhile, it has been shown that a further four Debenhams stores don't post open-lockdown, after the company concerned to explain the failure of the landlords.

The stores are in Southampton, Swindon, Kidderminster and Borehamwood. They are said in addition to seven outlets Debenhams, will remain closed.
