Richard Townley Life story
Colonel Richard Townley was born in England probably at Astlam Manor in Littleton. He was the eighth son of Nicholas Townley of Littleton and Joanne White. He emigrated to Virginia in the suite of Lord Effingham, Governor of Virginia in 1683.
