About River Irwell
The River Irwell is a 39-mile long river which flows through the Irwell Valley in North West England. Its source is at Irwell Springs on Deerplay Moor, approximately 1. 5 miles north of Bacup. It forms the boundary between Manchester and Salford and empties into the River Mersey near Irlam.

The Mother of a Little Boy who died after being found in a river, paid tribute to "a cheeky chappie with a smile that melted The Heart ."
Zakari Bennett-Eko died after he was pulled from the River Irwell in Bury, Greater Manchester , on Wednesday.
His mother, Emma blood, said the 11-month-old is a happy and contented baby smile "with a beautiful and a head full of curls".
Zakari father Zak Eko, 22, has been accused in court of murder.
emergency crews employees moved Zakari from the water on Wednesday, but he later died in the hospital.
Ms blood, said: "On Wednesday afternoon, My Life changed forever.
"I have this morning as a mummy to the wonderful sweet Little Boy , and in the afternoon, Zakari was woke up and taken from me in The Most tragic of circumstances.
"Zakari My Life was for 11 months, and The Heart of Our Family for many years to Come . "
you said your son was the "youngest of five generations of Our Family and was loved Beyond Belief ".
Zakari William Bennett-Eko died after being pulled from the River Irwell in RadcliffeMs blood added: "Zakari wrapped all around his little finger. Everyone who met him, fell in love with him immediately.
"It is hard to grasp what happened and that I don't get to see My Baby Grow Up to be a pretty decent man, I knew he would become. "
Flowers were left on a bridge over The River in Radcliffe, while Zakari paid to relatives, to pay tribute to him.
The grandfather of The Boy left a card that read: "To My beautiful grandson. We love you so much RIP. "
Mr. Eko, of no fixed address, appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court and had earlier been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Monday .
