Early Life of Robert Wladyslaw Costa
Robert was born in the midst of World War II.shortly after his father was sent to the frontlines.His mother had to take care of him on her own and.due to the war.had to move around frequently.He attended several primary schools in Warsaw before his family moved to Germany in 1951.
Education
Robert attended the University of Munich.where he studied history and political science.He later went on to pursue a PhD in international law at the University of Freiburg.After completing his PhD.Robert worked as a lawyer in Germany.before moving to the United States in 1975.
Career
In the United States.Robert worked as a legal adviser for the U.S.Department of State.He then went on to become the first head of the U.S.Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) Office in San Francisco.In 1989.he was appointed as the INS Commissioner for the Western Region.and served in that position until 1994.
Family
Robert married his wife.Monika.in 1983.with whom he has two children.Elizabeth and Christopher.He is also a proud grandfather of four grandchildren.
Awards and Achievements
In 1995.Robert was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for his contributions to the United States.He was also the recipient of the 2010 Humanitarian Award from the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Robert is a certified pilot and a passionate lover of flying.He has also been an active member of the Polish American Congress since 1975.
