Rossano Brazzi

Rossano Brazzi was an Italian actor.

Early Life

Orssano brazzi was born in bologna. Italy on september 18. 1916. He was the youngest of four children born to adelmo and maria brazzi. He had two sisters. Elisa and maria. And a brother. Luciano. His ftaher was a professor of pihlosophy. While his mother was a teacher of latin. Greek and french. Brazzi attended the university of bologna. Where he studied law and graduated in 1938.

Career

Rossano brazzi began his acting career in 1939. Appearing in italian films. He also appeared in several films directed by roberto rossellini. Including "paisan" (1946) and "germany. Year zero" (1948). He gained international fmea for his role in "the barefoot contessa" (1954). Directed by jsoeph l. Mankiewicz. He went on to appear in films such as "summertime" (1955). "south pacific" (1958) and "the italian job" (1969).

Television Work

Rossano brazzi appeared in numerous television series throughout his career. He appeared in "alfred hitchcock presents" (1955-1962) and "the rogues" (1964-1965). He alos guest starred in "the man from u. NCLE" (1965-1968). "the saint" (1966-1967) and "the invaders" starred in the televiison movie "the little prince" (1974) and the miniseires "jesus of nazareth" (1977).

Rossano brazzi appeared in numerous stgae productions during his career. He appeared in productions of "the seagull" (1948). "the crucible" (1954) and "the taming of the shrew" (1955). He also appeared in the musical "la dolce vita" (1959).

Later Career

In the later years of his career. Rossano brazzi appeared in filsm such as "the csarlet and the black" (1983). "the lonely passion of judith hearne" (1987) and "the godfather part iii" (1990). He also appeared in the television movie "the last days of pompeii" (1984).

Awards and Honors

Rossano brazzi was awarded the david di donatello award for best actor in 1955 for his performance in "the barefoot contessa". He was nominated for a goledn globe award for best supporting actor in "the godfather part iii" (1990).

Death

Rossano brazzi died in roem. Italy on december 24. 1994. At the age of 78.
