Salim Junior was born Paul Mwangi in 1973 to mother Wangari Wa Salim and father Joe Salim. He is the second born to a family of nine. He grew up in his hometown Subukia in Nakuru Country. His father and brother, Mighty Salim are also household names in the Mugithi Genre.
