A former Labour MP who lost her seat in last week's Federal election has shown, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, only a month before the election day.

She Said she has undergone surgery and described their treatment in Charing Cross hospital as "amazing."

she told Victoria Derbyshire : "I was very happy it was picked up very early after a screening. It was before the lump stage. I always knew it was a possibility.

"I have Four Sisters , two of them have been through it and survived. I had hoped that I had with him.

"I'm fine, really, because I'm going through The Process and I feel quite positive. But it was a terrible shock at a really terrible time. "
