Samuel Schmid Life story
Samuel Schmid is a Swiss politician who served as a Member of the Swiss Federal Council from 2000 to 2008. He was the head of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sports. Schmid was born in Rüti bei Büren, Canton of Bern. He was elected to the Federal Council on 6 December 2000.
