The sickle-winged nightjar is a species of nightjar in a monotypic genus in the family Caprimulgidae. It is found in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and far northwestern Uruguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, dry savanna, moist savanna, and swamps.
