Sir David Hughes, Bt, 14th Bt, who died on May 13 aged 66, was a noted sculptor of heraldic animals and crests. Hughes took up sculpture as a hobby in the 1970s, after retiring from the Cambridge scientific instruments company Pye Unicam.
